Shell Cyberjaya Recreation Centre
Forest, water and sunset shape a place to recharge.
Malaysian memories, in 28 different rooms.
A 17,000 sq ft karaoke destination that translates the familiar objects and places of Malaysian towns and villages into individually themed interiors.
The 28-room venue uses nostalgia as a unifying brief while giving each room a distinct identity. Flour mills, spinning tops, biscuit tins, bicycles, bird cages and clay pots provide the source vocabulary.
The photographed interiors show oversized gears, graphic wall panels and framed decorative objects. Familiar everyday references become elements of a room rather than loose decoration.
Banquette seating, tables and entertainment screens create a recognisable room arrangement. Within this format, changes in colour, wall treatment and feature construction create variety.
